Small Time Crooks (2000)

With "Small Time Crooks," a return to his screwball period, Allen plays a dishwasher who tries (along with a group of equally inept gawks) to rob a bank. It's simple, funny and conventional in the best sense of the word.

So there you go: two high-quality exercises in comedy and tragedy.
