Christopher A. "German" Smith, 37, of Milwaukee, was charged by warrant Friday with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Police still were seeking him Saturday.

After the stare, the conflict seemed over when Smith's roommate had a drink with one of the victims, according to the complaint.

Smith, though, told a woman in his group to go to his house and return with his gun, according to the complaint.

Shortly before the shooting, someone saw Smith drinking with Daniel Vela and Pena, one of whom apparently gave the group the threatening stare, according to the complaint.

The witness later heard a fight in the men's restroom followed by gun shots. Daniel and Roberto Vela were shot to death inside the men's room. Pena was chased outside and shot to death.

The criminal complaint does not indicate whether Smith knew the victims.
