No one was injured. The Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee Police Department were called to the scene.
The driver of the Buick, a female not affiliated with Marquette who wished to remain anonymous, was not hurt.
"I had the green light and he just pinned me; I know he saw me," she said.
The driver of the Toyota, a male not affiliated with Marquette, did not want to comment. The driver of the Toyota received a ticket from MPD for failure to stop at a red light.
Joe Faber, a freshman in the College of Communication, was standing on the northeast corner of the intersection when the two cars crashed.
"All of a sudden I hear glass and metal fall to the street," he said, and then "I see pieces of the cars coming right at me."
Faber said he grabbed the man standing next to him and the two backed up toward the bus stop.
"If I stayed where I was, the cars would have hit me," Faber said.
Both cars were damaged and had to be towed.
