I consider myself very tolerant and accepting of other people's views, but this time I felt compelled to speak out. Did the surrounding African-American community skew our student vote count? Hell no! Did the fact that there is a surrounding community skew our vote count? Absolutely. I agree with the author that the tabulation of the student vote was most likely off. But I very sorely have to disagree that this vote count was off because of the surrounding community's race.
Fafinski is a political science major. I am not. But I feel I should offer this advice: Careless choice of words can particularly haunt a public figure in their future.
