Hi, my name is Jaclyn Jensen and I am your personal financial adviser. I am here to answer all of your finance-related questions — from why you should save for retirement and what types of accounts are out there, to why diversification is important in an investment portfolio, to what a credit score is. The only thing I cannot do is make a specific investment recommendation, sorry! So please, send me your questions at [email protected] and I will give you an answer in my biweekly column.
Why should you listen to me? Well, I may not be a financial expert yet, but I definitely know quite a bit. I won't give you my entire life story, but here are a few reasons why you should believe I know what I am talking about:
- I graduated from Marquette last spring with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance.
- I spent three semesters in Marquette's Applied Investment Management program, during which our class managed $1 million of Marquette's endowment fund.
- I interned at an asset management company.
- I am currently employed as an analyst at an investment bank.
- I have my Series 7 registration, which means that I am federally licensed as a General Securities Representative.
- I am working toward becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst and have passed Level 1 of a three-part process.
- And when in doubt, I have access to people and resources that are even more knowledgeable than I am.
I look forward to answering your questions, so please check out my column every other Thursday!
