The 2011 Milwaukee Film Festival will occur from Sept. 22 to Oct. 2 and will present awards for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and among others, Best Fiction and Best Cinematography.
Founded in 2008 as a way to showcase some of the best talent in film in Milwaukee, The Milwaukee Film Festival is an amazing opportunity right off campus to experience the art of film making in Milwaukee and the wonderful writers and film makers that produce it.
Last year the festival drew over 30,000 people and featured 26 sold-out screenings. Due to the massive amount of films to choose from this year, the Milwaukee Film Festival website narrows the topics down into categories including Passport: India, Tribute: Kartemaquin Films and Take One: Milwaukee’s Children Festival.
My top three choice films to see this year include The Interrupters, Marathon Boy and Mumbai Dairies. Click on the links to learn about my top picks and decide what films you want to see.
Tickets cost $10 per showing and are available up until an hour before show time.
Location varies per film.
