To answer the question above, the answer is no. Sorry guys, I don’t care how manly and rugged you think you are. Pink is a no-go. However, the current trend for many designers has recently been salmon. This color is similar to pink, but the orange hues in salmon set it apart from the magenta and hot pinks. You can’t just wear something salmon colored and call it a day. The best way to pull this trend off is do it in moderation or accents.
For interviews or more formal events, your best bet is to wear one pop of salmon color. For example, wearing a salmon colored dress shirt and pairing it with neutral colors will allow you to stand out, without looking like Sponge Bob’s star fish friend. Another way you could rock this look is with a tie, or even socks that are salmon to give that boring office man look a much younger vibe.
For a more casual look, salmon is cool to wear on a simple t-shirt. You’ll look tanner than usual, but it’s not as bright of a neon color to make you look orange. So next time you’re asking yourself if pink is a color you want to try, slap yourself. Like literally slap yourself to make sure that’s never a question again. Once that’s said and done, look for clothes that are salmon colored and you will for sure stand out, without looking like the Pink Panther’s fraternal twin. Here are some links to all types of clothes in salmon color.
