It’s fairly common to see celebrities wear open back dresses on the red carpet, but what about for your own closet? The open back trend is an elegant way to show some skin without overdoing it. It’s sexy but classy. Personally, I’m drawn to the open back trend because I got a tattoo done on my upper back in November. Since then, I’ve been looking for ways to not only show a little back but to highlight my tattoo. Tattoo or no tattoo, you can shop for styles that have simple or high necklines, but when you turn around there’s that unexpected peek-a-boo of skin!
From tank tops to dresses, sweaters, and tees, there are a lot of options out there to wear the open back trend. You can show a little skin whether it’s through a slit, scoop, open areas from straps, a circle, or peeking through fringes. Of course, there are different looks that would suit different occasions and tastes. The open back design is a statement by itself; if you wear this trend you should try too keep everything else simple (including accessories). It also might be a good idea to keep your hair up if you have long hair, just so you can get the most out of your look. Keep it simple by piling your hair on top as casually as you can, or braid it.
Now that you’ve been inspired, take a look at some open back looks on the red carpet as well as my top picks that you can wear. If you’re feeling courageous enough to work this look, make a bold move and show off that back!
