Marquette women’s basketball head coach Cara Consuegra has filled yet another spot on the roster. And this one comes etched in history, as Consuegra signed the program’s first Asian player since at least 2006-07.
The Hualien, Taiwan native, Yu Han Lin, announced her commitment to the Golden Eagles Monday afternoon.

Last season at Middle Tennessee, the 5-foot-9 Lin averaged 4.7 points points per game while shooting 53-for-132 from the field (40%) and 10-for-41 from beyond the arc (24%). She also totaled 41 assists and 35 rebounds.
The sophomore guard competed in all five games during the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup, representing Chinese Taipei. She also played in all seven games for Chinese Taipei at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Lin is the second point guard to join Marquette this offseason alongside incoming first-year Kinley Asp. Getting a floor general was important for the Golden Eagles, who were stuck in the mud offensively for the final month of last season after losing Olivia Porter.
Lin has now become the fourth Golden Eagle to announce their commitment, leaving Consuegra with six open scholarship spots.
