Trocadero
A self-proclaimed “gastrobar,” Trocadero provides French cuisine with eclectic hints of Latin and Thai food, and boasts generous portions at an affordable price. This enchanting lower east side eatery flaunts an imaginative appetizer menu, featuring Baked Brie En Croute and Red-Curried Mussels. Definitely give the Chicken Coquette entrée a try; the roasted chicken and white cheddar pureed potatoes with melted leeks and frenched green beans, pan jus, in a crock combo will leave your palate satisfied. As a Valentine’s Day special, Trocadero features an “Aphrodisiac Menu” from Feb. 10-14. In addition, the first 50 couples will receive a complimentary rose for the ladies and a free Stella Artois for the men. Also, don’t forget to stop by for brunch the next morning — they tied Café Hollander for Milwaukee’s Best Brunch in 2010 and made top five in 2011, partly thanks to Trocadero’s delectable Bloody Mary’s.

The Pasta Tree
Commonly renowned as the most romantic restaurant in Milwaukee, The Pasta Tree does not disappoint. This Italian restaurant is one of Milwaukee’s best kept secrets nestled in the east side, boasting unrivaled authentic homemade pasta. But don’t let its interior fool you, while it may seem like someone duped you into eating in a dimly lit nook of your grandmother’s outdated dining room, its cuisine is well worth it. In fact, some would argue that The Pasta Tree’s quaint and intimate Trattoria setting contributes to its title as the most romantic restaurant in Milwaukee. Amore!
