Hernández joined Marquette in 2004 as a faculty member before becoming a full-time professor in 2019. He was a professor of Spanish and applied linguistics in addition to being the Language Program Coordinator for Spanish courses 1003 to 2003.

Muslim students celebrate the end of Ramadan

Some Marquette University students belonging to the Muslim community took part in Eid-al-Fitr festivities at home with their family and friends, as well as locations near campus. 
The program will offer students a chance to dispose of clothing, unopened non-perishable food items, small appliances and other objects they won’t need for the coming year while also giving back to the campus community.

The program will offer students a chance to dispose of clothing, unopened non-perishable food items, small appliances and other objects they won’t need for the coming year while also giving back to the campus community. Chelsea Malacara, sustainability and energy management coordinator, has been working on this initiative for a little over a year. She said she coordinated a comparable program at her previous job with the University of Southern Maine.

Baldwin won her first election to the Senate in 2012, defeating former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson with 51.4% of the vote. In 2018, she defeated Wisconsin state Senator Leah Vukmir by over 10 percentage points.

Shrank has been working with Marquette custodial services for 16 years. Shrank had a cancer scare this past summer, requiring a surgery that kept him away from work. Shrank held back tears describing the outpouring of support he received from those among the 22 members of the second-shift custodial staff who work 3 p.m. to 10:30 pm on weekdays.

Dawne Moon, a professor in gender and sexualities studies at Marquette, says that the departments in humanities are losing faculty. When she started working in social and cultural sciences, there were six tenured faculty just for sociology, but now there are two.

Marquette student dies in Cobeen residence hall

According to a recently published investigation report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, Mohammed Batayneh, MUPD was dispatched to Cobeen at 9:37 p.m last night. They arrived three minutes later and began performing CPR on Ray. 
The two students involved in the situation are in the College of Engineering.

The student, a white male in the College of Engineering, posted the picture Friday night of someone dressed in a green alien suit with a sombrero, a traditional Mexican men's hat. The person also wore a nametag with the word "undocumented" written on it.
