After reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with “Chasing Cars” off their 2006 album, U.K. rockers Snow Patrol will release their fifth album, “A Hundred Million Suns,” on Tuesday.
The first single, “Take Back the City,” chronicles a love for city life with upbeat guitar and drum melodies. Eyes Open producer, Garrnet “Jackknife” Lee, continued his role for the 14 new songs that make up “A Hundred Million Suns.”
Up-and-coming Interscope Records artist Lady GaGa debuts “The Fame” on Oct. 28. In her MySpace biography, she describes her first single, “Just Dance,” as having a “fun, L.A., celebratory vibe.” The song was played on a recent episode of MTV’s “The Hills.” Although she will tour with New Kids on the Block through the end of November, she cites her main influence as David Bowie. Queen’s song “Radio GaGa” also inspired the 22-year-old’s stage name.
John Legend’s latest compilation, “Evolver,” is due Tuesday from Columbia Records, featuring his latest single “If You’re Out There.” Legend premiered the song at the Democratic National Convention in August with vocals by the Agape Choir. Recently, he has promoted voter registration in the upcoming presidential election and his own Show Me Campaign. “Show Me” is the fourth track off of his 2006 record, “Once Again,” and it questions “What is reality? Where do we go? What do we know?”

Nov. 11 marks the official release date of Taylor Swift’s latest album, “Fearless,” from Big Machine Records. As with her 2006 self-titled debut, Swift continues to write her own songs, which she began doing at age 12. For $75, fans can purchase a limited edition boxed package of the album with a shirt, leather bracelet, photo album, sticker and an album mosaic frame. The album’s first single, “Love Story,” speaks of a prince and princess, Romeo and Juliet story, with the video set featuring Victorian-style costuming and a ballroom setting.
Pink is also preparing for a new release, and her single “So What” mocks both her ex-husband and Jessica Simpson. American Idol winner David Cook and Fall Out Boy, whose recent concerts have been kept largely secretive, are also due for new releases.
