Kilts, skirts, skorts—what are they? Very recently, this trend has circulated throughout the web, street style and high fashion.

Rick Owens’s Spring 2013 Menswear has showcased male models walking down the runway showing off their legs with no fabric in between. Yes, skirts.

As intriguing and innovative as this may sound, the pieces are very simple. This fashion outbreak is very casual, laid-back and edgy. An androgynous aspect comes to play when I see this type of menswear.

With this style being portrayed on the runway, inspiration has been shown by taking a feminine look and incorporating it into menswear collections. I notice fashion bloggers, stylists and men captured in their street style rock this look. I appreciate how the fashion industry is so innovate and tries to break the mold.

I am interested in this style and hope to see more of it. The fashion industry is ever changing and I am excited to see what menswear has in store for us in the upcoming years.
