With December around the corner, all of our favorite primetime shows will be taking a break for the holidays. But don’t worry, networks will soon be airing all the traditional Christmas specials.

The best one-stop channel for the holiday season is ABC Family. It offers a wide array of holiday films. It airs its usual “25 Days of Christmas,” which is more or less a holiday movie marathon that spans the month of December. It includes traditional Christmas films, such as Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (airing Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.), “The Polar Express” (Dec. 2 at 6 and 8 p.m.) and “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” (Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.). Tune in on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. for a night of true Christmas classics, including “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year,” “The Year Without a Santa Claus” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.”

Other movies that fall into the holiday category in this station’s eyes are “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Harry Potter” (the first four films), “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Mary Poppins” and “The Family Man.” While none of these films are technically “Christmas movies,” they’re all well worth your time and at least somewhat winter-esque.

ABC Family also shows its own original movies, including “Santa Baby,” “A Dennis the Menace Christmas” and “Holiday in Handcuffs.”
