Lamonte Bearden, a transfer from the University at Buffalo, lists Marquette among the schools he’s interested in according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
Also on Bearden’s list is Nevada, Arizona, TCU, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Iowa State and Miami.
Bearden, a Milwaukee native, scored 13.7 points, dished out 4.2 assists and grabbed 2.9 rebounds per game with the Bulls last season. He was the leading scorer on a Bulls team that won the Mid American Conference for the second season in a row.
He played high school basketball at Germantown with Marquette center Luke Fischer and was the 28th best point guard in the 2014 class according to ESPN. He is Buffalo’s highest ranked recruit in program history.
Bearden was granted his release from UB’s program by head coach Nate Oats today.
