Sophomore guard Todd Mayo was ruled academically ineligible effectively indefinitely, coach Buzz Williams announced.
Mayo was expected to log more minutes without Darius Johnson-Odom, but Mayo will not be allowed to practice with the team or play until his situation is sorted out.
“Todd understands success in our program requires a sincere commitment to excellence on and off the floor. I’m extremely disappointed he’s put himself in this position, but he has the full support of our program as he works to improve,” said Williams.
Mayo appeared in 35 games last year, averaging 7.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
