MUSG elections tomorrow

With elections for 19 new senate seats being held Wednesday, the first Marquette Student Government meeting of the school year was held last week with many empty seats around the room.

The meeting took place last Thursday night in the Alumni Memorial Union.

MUSG President Meghan Ladwig announced plans for a presentation of the university’s progress on renovations made to the Rec Center and probes into building a new facility. The presentation will take place in two weeks at the Sept. 23 meeting.

Ladwig, a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences, also said MUSG is working to have a representative sit in on future board of trustees meetings.

Financial Vice President Michael Thiel said MUSG is working on financial statements from the 2009-’10 school year. Thiel, a senior in the College of Business Administration, said although the budget was allocated last year, MUSG has not yet reimbursed all of those funds.

MUSG senator elections will take place Wednesday from midnight until 10 p.m. Students can vote online at musg.mu.edu/vote.
