DPS REPORTS

Sept. 4

At 1:29 a.m. two students were seen repeatedly striking an unknown victim in the 1600 block of West Wells Street and were uncooperative and disrespectful toward Department of Public Safety officers.  An officer recognized one of the students from previous altercations, and he continued to verbally assault the officers.  The two students are 20-year-old males.

Sept. 5

At 11:58 a.m. an alarm sounded for the Haggerty House due to burnt food.  The Milwaukee Fire Department was not contacted.  The alarm was reset.

At 9:28 p.m. a person not affiliated with Marquette snatched a student’s cell phone from her hand outside of Mashuda Hall and fled the scene.  DPS located and detained the suspect behind the Pabst Mansion after pursuing him  on bicycle and foot.  The Milwaukee Police Department took the suspect into custody and the student’s property was recovered.

At 11:03 p.m DPS observed a person not affiliated with Marquette loitering outside of Sensenbrenner Hall.  Upon investigation, it appeared that the suspect was in possession of stolen items from an off-campus location.  The items were placed in DPS inventory and later retrieved by MPD.

Sept. 6

At 8:11 p.m.a student reported observing a person not affiliated with Marquette remove a tire from a secured, unattended bicycle in the 1300 block of West Kilbourn Avenue and flee the scene.  DPS located and detained the suspect.  The suspect physically assaulted a DPS officer and MPD took the suspect into custody.
