Sideshow: Sayonara Suckers

In the 18 months or so of reigning havoc upon the newsroom, Sports Sideshow, this hot garbage you read every week, has been easily the most fun and rewarding. It’s come a long way from “The Lighter Side of Sports,” that’s for sure. It’s my widdle bast- baby, and the fact it’s over is depressing. (Pictured: the diamond tears of a rapper.)

But fear not, Sideshow will live on next year, and it’s very cool to pass on the torch. Columnist Tim Seeman will take over, and he’ll do a great job with it. Won’t you. He better, anyway.

As for the future, a personal Web site is in the works where I’ll post daily, minus the space limitations of print, and generally be able to do much, much more without having everything dumbed down and censored. Yeah, I said it. Man, that will be sweet. Unfortunately, I am bad at Web design, so it’s in progress. Until then, Twitter (@ericgrover) it is. Too bad no one will read that, either.

Looking back, I’ll fondly remember Sports Sideshow for what it really was: a forum for making fun of Tom Crean.

Bye, Marquette. Watch your step, and don’t forget to bring a towel. See you around campus. And if you happen to have a couple bucks for the bus, that would be awesome, too.
