DPS Reports 11/16/09

Nov. 13

Between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m., a student reported an unknown person forcibly entered his secured, unattended vehicle in the 900 block of North 15th Street. The person removed property, a GPS system and cell phone charger estimated to total $130. Estimated damage to the vehicle is unknown. The Milwaukee Police Department was contacted.

At 11:24 p.m., a student reported being involved in a physical altercation with an unknown male suspect at Campus Town West apartments. Department of Public Safety officers were dispatched. Upon arrival, they observed a suspect who was staggering and appeared to be intoxicated. He refused treatment from DPS officers. MPD responded. The suspect told police he had been punched in the face. He was transported to the hospital and released.

Nov. 14

At 4:25 p.m., a 34-year-old male not affiliated with Marquette acted in a disorderly manner in the Union Sports Annex. DPS officers were sent to the Annex and observed a man running in and out the doors. He was attempting to chase after two male students. The suspect saw the officers and ran eastbound on West Wells Street. The suspect was stopped at the intersection of North 15th and West Wells streets. MPD was contacted and the suspect was cited. The students were not injured.

At 1:23 a.m., a 21-year-old male not affiliated with Marquette battered three students in the 1600 block of West Wisconsin Avenue and fled the scene. The suspect pushed a female student’s head into a stoplight pole on the northeast corner of the 700 block of North 16th Street. The suspect grabbed another female and threw her into the street. He then struck a male student in the face. Officers approached the suspect and he attempted to flee, but was caught by DPS officers. MPD responded and arrested him for battery and a potential state charge.
