Nov. 9

Between 1:28 and 1:29 p.m., a vehicle driven by a person not affiliated with Marquette struck a garage door frame in the Wells Street parking structure. According to a student attendant, the driver of a red Ford Focus was trying to back out of the structure when the car struck the frame. The driver fled the scene, but the attendant was able to record the car’s license plate. The Milwaukee Police Department was contacted and an investigation is ongoing.

At 11:33 p.m., a student’s unsecured, unattended backpack had been stolen from Raynor Library. The Department of Public Safety reviewed surveillance camera footage and identified a suspect in the case. The suspect, believed to be a Marquette student, left the backpack in Raynor and DPS recovered it. All contents were recovered with the exception of a textbook valued at $160. DPS has called the suspect, but he has not returned the call.
