At 2:17 a.m., DPS officers were flagged down to speak with a man not affiliated with Marquette who reported vandalism to his vehicle. The man said his car was vandalized after he got into an argument about baseball with a Marquette student. The student, who was wearing a Chicago Cubs shirt at the time of the incident, reportedly threw a rock at the windshield of the man’s vehicle. DPS officers were able to identify the student with assistance from the victim. The student was later taken to the MPD District 3 station, cited and released.
At 3:29 a.m., DPS officers were dispatched to Schroeder Hall, where they spoke with the on-duty resident assistant, who suspected a student had vandalized the ninth floor. The RA was walking through the building when he stepped off the elevator on the ninth floor and witnessed a male student bent over a pillar and holding a hammer. There were two holes in the pillar. When the RA asked if the student had caused the damage, he said someone had given him the hammer. He fled the scene upon the RA’s arrival. When DPS officers arrived, the student continued to deny causing any damage and was uncooperative.

At 5:56 p.m., DPS officers witnessed a male student placing 30 12-ounce cans of beer into a backpack behind a business in the 1400 block of West Wells Street. When officers approached the student, he produced an ID that indicated he was of legal drinking age. He later claimed he was an RA in Abbotsford Hall and was placing the beer in a backpack to conceal it from residents. Upon further questioning, the student admitted he used a falsified ID card to purchase the beer. The student was 18- years-old.
