DPS Reports 10/13 CP1 JM2 MN3

At 2:13 p.m., Department of Public Safety officers confiscated a fake state identification card from a clutch purse that had been turned in to “lost and found.” Officers called the student into DPS headquarters in the 16th Street parking structure, where she admitted to purchasing the ID online for $130. The student was issued a Milwaukee Police Department referral.

Oct. 11

At 1:05 a.m., DPS was called to the 800 block of North 16th Street after a student reported his vehicle was vandalized. The vehicle had multiple large scratches, a missing driver’s side mirror and a three-inch puncture in one of the bumpers. Cost of the damage is estimated at $1,000.

At 2:20 p.m., DPS officers met with the university hall store coordinator to take a report concerning stolen money. The coordinator reported that there was a discrepancy of $64.20 between the amount collected from purchases and the actual amount in the register at the McCormick Hall store. DPS is investigating the incident.

At 5 p.m., DPS was called to Marquette Tanning & Laundry in the 800 block of North 16th Street. Store staff requested DPS assistance after they reported a man was making threatening remarks to customers inside the business. The man refused a DPS order to vacate. MPD was then contacted and officers escorted the man from the premises. He was advised not to return.
