Sophomore Dusan Medan and junior Trent Hagan each were seeded in the tournament's main draw, but both made early exits, dropping first-round matches to Drew Eberly of Ohio State and Ryan Rowe of Illinois, respectively.
Three of Marquette's four doubles squads dropped their matches in the first round. Only the tandem of sophomore Mark Rutherford and senior Brett Binkley advanced to the second round. Rutherford and Binkley defeated Alejandro Calligari and Ben Clos of Louisville before dropping their match to Sheeva Parbhu and Andrew Roth of Notre Dame in the second round.
