Finalized plans for the Wells Street median project, including a sketch of what it is anticipated to look like, were presented at Thursday's Marquette Student Government Senate meeting.
Alderman Bob Bauman, Milwaukee Department of Public Works project manager Ghassan Korban, city forestry landscape designer Scott Baran, university architect Tom Ganey and Rana Altenburg, the vice president of the Office of Public Affairs, all attended the meeting.
The median will contain different kinds of narrow, tall trees as well as various shrubs and flowers, Baran said.
Korban said bids ended up coming in much lower than the city had anticipated, largely because contractors are "hungry for bids."
Construction is slated to begin April 15.
