Marquette's Law School ranks in U.S. News & World Report's "Top 100" law schools in the nation, according to a university press release.
Marquette's tie for the 97th position marks a jump up from last year when the school fell into the third tier, which begins with the 101st ranking.
The press release also said the Law School's dispute resolution program – a program that "includes instruction and practice in negotiation, mediation and arbitration" – was ranked sixth in the latest Graduate School national rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
"The national reputation of the dispute resolution program is something that the law school is very proud of," said Brigid O'Brien Miller, director of university communication.
Law School Dean Joseph Kearney said national rankings were not the ultimate determinate of success, but "there is no question that they are important to a number of individuals, in particular, some prospective students."
