If not, imagine reading "Lord of the Flies" and then losing all the kids, adding really good-looking actors and ditching all the stuff about reading too. Then add science fiction elements, mysterious numbers and "The Village." Then you have an idea. Kind of.

4. 'The Shield' Clean cops make for boring TV. But take Michael Chiklis as a bad-ass, take-no-prisoners cop and you have a great TV cop. So dirty that the Los Angeles Police Department made sure the show's police officers did not have the same uniform.

5. 'Nip/Tuck' Sex, beautiful people and really disgusting surgery. Do these three things interest you? Then this show probably does as well.
