Wisconsin started strong and took all three of the doubles matches. The duo of Callan Smith and Maria Calbeto was defeated by Madison's #27 Lindsay Marin and Katie McGaffigan, 8-2, in No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Francina Bonnelly and freshman Elsemieke Dokter was easily beaten by Caitlin Burke and Kaylan Caiati at the No. 2 spot, 8-1. In No. 3 doubles sophomore Dominika Dabrowski and freshman Erin Watkins were knocked off by Nicole Beck and Chelsea Nusslock, 8-3.
"The girls need to start playing smarter," said head coach Jody
Bronson. "That's part of the reason why we are struggling right now."
