A Milwaukee County medical examiner's report released Tuesday said the remains found Aug. 9 were those of Eugene Chaney Jr., who was born in February of 1957 and was last seen by his sister in April 2000.

Chaney was convicted in March 1989 of attempting to purchase 10 pounds of cocaine in a South Side hotel.

A federal judge issued an arrest warrant for Chaney in August 2000 after he failed to report to his probation officer.
