County and city officials said they didn't expect the costs to grow significantly beyond work they had already planned to do.

The County Board's Parks Committee endorsed the settlement 7-0 on Tuesday after a closed-session briefing by a county assistant corporation counsel, John Schapekahm. The board's Judiciary Committee unanimously endorsed it last week.

The County Board will take up the issue Dec. 15.
