Housing sign-up delayed

Registration for university off-campus housing was postponed until Wednesday because of a computer glitch involving the Campus Town expansion, Marquette officials said Monday.

According to Off-Campus Student Coordinator Stacy Dooley, Information Technology Services told her that the delay in registration was the result of a “coding error.”

Dooley said students will have the option of either accepting their current housing situation if the students registered prior to the time the process was aborted at 9 a.m., or re-registering with their existing registration time starting on Wednesday.

Dooley said most of the students affected by the delay in registration had been notified through either an Office of Residence Life registered letter, or by phone if they lived off-campus.

“There are just few more things to do before Wednesday, but the major preparations have been made,” Dooley said.

Marquette Student Government President Kate Agnew said the Office of Off-Campus Student Services had done what she said was the best they could do given the situation.

“It sounded like just a computer glitch,” Agnew said.,”Brian O’Connor”
