That’s a Wrap.

Wrap Jackets:

Light jackets, sweaters and coats are must-haves for Fall. We all love slipping on cozy sweaters because they’re effortless an easy. However, sometimes my body calls for a little structure or else I’d look like a potato. I love a cinched waist. Adding immediate form to your waist can really flatter your body.

I thought I’d bring wrap jackets to attention because they make a very cool form and silhouette. The doubling of the lapels on the collar bone and cinched waist really flows together nicely. Most I’ve seen come with a tie belt to wrap tightly around your waist, hence the name. It’s definitely a chic and formal version of the baggy sweater. Because sometimes a girl needs a little structure.

My inspiration for these jackets are from the Haider Ackermann show, who focused on the woman wearing her lover’s distressed soldier uniform. Fragility and strength. Or as the designer would say himself, ” like Marilyn Monroe emerging from the hospital all bundled up against the paparazzi.”

I love these. The denum and the hood are too perfect.

Look into my closet: a yellow hooded layered wrap jacket that I got from TJMaxx last year. It came with a belt and this is a make-fun-of homage to Little ‘Red’ Riding Hood, I guess.
