It’s that time of year again — Halloween. You’re most likely rushing to find a last-minute costume, or figuring out what party to go to. But Halloween is usually a weekend-long affair, so what else can a college student do in Milwaukee to celebrate? Check out what the Marquette Journal dug up.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one wild way to get into the Halloween spirit. Morgan Johnson, a sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences says, “It’s a classic; wild and crazy.” How crazy? Try dressing in drag, bringing props and throwing toilet paper and rice. For the full list of antics, visit the website. Be sure to get to the theatre early. There are contests and prizes to be won as well!
Dates: Oct., 28 & 29
Location: Oriental Theatre; 2230 N. Farwell Ave. (Take bus 30 and it will get you there in about 20 minutes!)
This Halloween weekend marks the premiere of MUTV’s student directed web series Bites. The creator and writer Charlie Mohl, junior in the College of Communication describes the show as, “a sitcom about surviving the zombie apocalypse shot in mockumentary style (like The Office or Parks and Recreation).” Mohl and Lauren Bradley, a senior broadcasting student in the College of Communication, co-produce the series.

Ballet doesn’t usually scream “spooky and frightening.” But how about a ballet featuring the blood-sucking Dracula? The Milwaukee Ballet presents a rendition of Dracula this weekend. The blood-chilling score is performed by the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra. Artistic Director Michael Pink’s ballet is already a global sensation; nearly one million people worldwide have already seen it. Enjoy a classic tale with a terrifying twist!

Hellevate 2011: Mo’s Irish Pub
A dance party filled to the brim with music, lights, and plenty of drinks to go around. It is claimed to be the largest, scariest and sexiest party of the year. This party sports two different levels of dance floors with DJ Quadi on one level and DJ Surge on the other. Put on your costume and head to the pub for a night of fun and haunts!

Mars Haunted House
Mars Haunted House was voted the number one haunted house in the Milwaukee area. But be warned, the advertisements for this adventure say it’s not for the faint of heart!
