The pair of injured players are two of 12 in the freshman class.

Marquette men’s soccer will be without freshman midfielder Jordan Palmer and freshman defenseman Jordan Webb for about half the season according to head coach Louis Bennett. Although they could come back sometime in October or November, Bennett said there is a strong possibility that they’ll both be redshirted.

Palmer, a 5-foot-4 Whitefish Bay product, was an All-State and All-Area selection while at Whitefish Bay High School. Webb was a four-time state champion in Iowa while with Cedar River SA.

Martin Alba, who is returning from two hip surgeries, said he suffered a slight quad strain Monday in practice. Trainers told him he should be ready to go for Friday’s game against Kentucky. None of the other returning players have serious injuries.
