Provost Daniel Myers announced the formation of a search committee for the Vice President of Student Affairs position on Nov. 19, according to a university news brief.

Two students are included on the committee chaired by Anne Deahl, associate vice provost for academic support programs and retention. Marquette is still finding a search firm to aid the committee in its process.

The committee includes:

  • The Rev. Kent Beausoleil, associate dean of student development
  • Dan Bergen, interim assistant vice president for student affairs
  • Jodi Blahnik, psychologist at the Counseling Center
  • Emily Gorz, a junior in the College of Communication and MUSG vice president of communication
  • Jody Jessup-Anger, assistant professor of educational policy and leadership
  • The Rev. Thomas Lawler, provincial of Wisconsin Province and a university trustee
  • Josh Miles, a sophomore in the College of Communication
  • Terence Miller, director of the Office of International Education
  • Bill Scholl, vice president for intercollegiate athletics
  • John Sweeney, director of recreational sports
  • Jill Weisensel, Marquette Police Department lieutenant
  • Mary Sue Callan-Farley, director of Campus Ministry

The former Vice President for Student Affairs, L. Christopher Miller, resigned in April to pursue business opportunities outside of higher education. Marya Leatherwood is filling the position on an interim basis until a permanent candidate is selected.
