‘Cool Runnings’ at Marquette

To celebrate the '90s, this week's Varsity Theatre movie is the classic "Cool Runnings." Whoever heard of a Jamaican bobsled team?

Well, four men decide it's their chance to do something no Jamaican has ever done.

Derice Bannock (Leon Robinson) was trying out for the Summer Olympics, but was disqualified because of an accident.

So he turns his attention to the bobsled. He meets up with a past, but disgraced, bobsledding great Irv Blitzer (John Candy). Who coaches the team.

Even though the team doesn't win, it still comes away with a great experience.

So "Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time!"

"Cool Runnings" plays at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Varsity Theatre. Admission is $2 with an MUID.
